Rock climbers at Dalkey Quarry by Killiney Hill

To someone who has only ever tried rock climbing once, there is much to marvel about the way others do it. And most of the shots below are of some of the climbers going up and down the walls of the Killiney Hill quarry earlier today. Note the way everyone uses rope – everyone that is, except for a guy who scaled a sheer rock face in a matter of minutes using little more than careful footing and his hands. Not photographed was the guy who had to be persuaded not to scale down the same piece of rock using . . . truck rope.
